Slack
CHTL uses Slack to talk with each other. The Slack is open to all volunteers.
Important channels include:
- #operations: daily questions and issues about running the tool library
- #shift-scheduling: arranging who will work each shift, in case no one has signed up or an opener/closer has to cancel last minute
- #events-and-classes: planning and soliciting classes for the community
- #church-communications: discussions with our landlord
- #social: anything just for fun
…and lots more. Post to the most specific channel that matches your topic.
Always be respectful, and move chats to a call, real life chat, or meeting if they get contentious.
List Of Private Channels
Section titled “List Of Private Channels”A small number of Slack channels are private and have limited membership, as follows. However, the goal is to have as much information on public channels as possible.
- #board-of-directors - A private channel for members of the Sustainable Capitol Hill board. Membership is limited to @board-members.
- #sensitive-discussions - A space for sensitive topics. It is intended only for discussions where privacy is necessary – please keep all other conversations in #operations. Membership is limited to @routine-volunteers, @fixers, and other SCH/CHTL leadership.
